Homework

The children are given spellings to learn (with a linked activity) and a piece of maths homework per week. In addition, the children should be reading for at least 20 minutes a day at home. This could be to an adult or as independent reading. If children do not yet know all of the multiplication facts to 10×10, then these should also be practiced daily.

As necessary, children will be given extra homework that relates to the learning taking place in class. We do take into consideration that the children have busy schedules outside of school (as do Mums and Dads) so this extra homework will usually be “Thinking Homework” or a follow up of the day’s lesson that should only take a few minutes to complete.

If at any time you have a question about the homework, or a problem in your child completing it, please ask your child to speak to Miss West- she’s very understanding!
