On Tuesday we went to school and encountered a bus that was ready to take us to Spalding High school to play rounders.
When we arrived, we made a toilet stop and then prepared…
The game had started and a Gedney Drove End group was first. (I wasn’t in it; I was in the third.) We fought well, but lost our rounds to other schools- one of which was the winning school.
Now it was GDE vs HSM. This was a friendly match and also our final match for the day. Weirdly, we drew the match with three and a half rounders… just our luck, I guess.
Finally, as expected, we lost the game to many other schools (including Westmere- yes, the whole community was there). We played well- just not well enough, unfortunately. Now we were on our way home to school. Oddly, we were back early!
